ENDURANCE AUV tested at NASA’s Neutral Buoyancy Lab (NBL)

21 June 2008:

Under a new Space Act Agreement between Stone Aerospace and NASA’s Johnson Space Center (JSC), the Stone Aerospace team tested the ENDURANCE AUV at the Neutral Buoyancy Lab to confirm readiness for deployment to Antarctica this fall.

“This facility provided us a pristine environment to fully wring out the new command, control, communications and sensor systems as a prelude to very harsh Antarctica underwater operations. NASA support was impeccable and much appreciated. It was awesome to operate ENDURANCE in the same facility that astronauts are routinely trained for complex space missions. We hope to use this facility in future projects of this nature.”
